The days is tense and harrowing, just like the days after the fukushima daiichi accident were for pretty much the whole population of japan. The arrival of his cool niece and an encounter with his sister shed light on his past and personal struggles, hinting at his retreat from societal expectations and perhaps past.
The Title Of “Perfect Days” Is A Reference To Lou Reed’s Song “Perfect Day,” Which Plays One Morning On Hirayama’s Tape Deck.
